First Aid FAQs
I am going to be my employer's registered First Aider. What course shall I take?
You will need to take the Highfield Level 3 Award in First Aid at work. This course is longer and consequently more thorough.
What does the Emergency First Aid at Work course cover?
The Emergency First Aid at Work course covers the roles and responsibilities of the first aider and how to assess an incident. The qualification also covers first aid skills in CPR and use of an AED, providing first aid to a casualty who is choking and dealing with external bleeding and hypovolaemic shock.
This is a 1 day course with a minimum of 6 hours training
Does the Prevention and Control of Infection for the Workplace course just cover Covid?
No it doesn’t.
This course covers, the importance of correct hand washing procedures for infection prevention and control, the principles of personal protective equipment, waste management procedures and the associated risk and roles and responsibilities in preventing infection.
It is a 1 day course with a minimum of 5 hours training.
Is there an examination for the Health & Wellbeing course?
No there isn’t.
The qualification is obtained by a portfolio of work assessed by Newcroft
The course is 2-3 days long with a minimum of 16 hours training.
