Driver CPC Initial Qualification
This consists of two parts, Module 2 and Module 4; if you passed your car test after January 1997, these must be completed before you can use your licence for hire and reward. These two are usually completed after your practical test has been issued.
This is a theory test which is conducted by the DSA , the test lasts about 30 minutes and can be taken at the same theory centre in which you took your original theory exams.

This is a practical test which also takes about 30 minutes , this is performed at the driving test centre and involves’show me, tell me questions’ . In which you must demonstrate your knowledge on several crucial and safety checks of your vehicle.

Driver CPC Periodic Training
All drivers who hold an HGV and PCV licence are required by the EU DIRECTIVE 2003/ 59 to complete 35 hours of classroom based qualifications, this must be completed by the end of that five year period. This can be achieved by 7 hours increments, so 7 hours every year would give you your 35 hours (7×5=35). Newcroft Training are a JAUPT accredited training school, and will issue certification of proof of attendance for the period completed eg 7 hours, 14 hours, and so on. Your (DQC) Drivers Qualification Card is issued by the DSA, once you have completed the total 35 hours.
There are some courses that Jaupt will accredit hours towards your periodic training eg. Hiab will award you 14 hours, ADR will award you 21 hours, if requested these can be achieved at our accredited centre.
